After moving to Dubai for a job in tech, I needed an efficient way to travel around this sprawling city. Public transportation is decent, but does not provide the flexibility I was accustomed to back home. So I decided to purchase an electric scooter that would allow me to easily commute and run errands on my own schedule.

As an avid scooter enthusiast in France, I was excited to bring this mode of transport with me to Dubai. The hot climate here makes scootering ideal to avoid sitting in traffic and arrive cool and sweat-free. After researching models capable of handling Dubai's roads, I opted for the Inokim Light based on its performance specs and design.

I came across a factory restored Inokim Light for sale at nearly half the price of a brand new one. Given Dubai's high costs of living, I jumped at the chance to get this high-end scooter for a bargain. ScootUp assured me Inokim's restoration process involves thoroughly inspecting each component and replacing any parts showing wear and tear. This gave me confidence I would get like-new quality for a fraction of the price.

The factory restored Light has served as the perfect scooter for navigating life in Dubai. Its slim design and lightweight 14kg body makes carrying and storing it a breeze. I can easily fold it up and bring it inside my office or restaurants instead of leaving it parked outside in the hot sun. The 35km/h top speed gives me plenty of zip to keep up with traffic. Since many roads here have higher speed limits, I don't have to constantly worry about cars tailgating me while scootering short distances around downtown. The 45km max range is more than enough to cover my daily commutes and errands before needing a recharge.

One major advantage over public transportation is the freedom to take whatever route I choose without adhering to set bus or metro schedules. The Light's 8 inch tires ably handle various terrains from smooth paved paths to rougher back alleys. I find myself discovering new shortcuts and sites each day that make my commutes more interesting than being stuck underground on the metro.

The responsive front and rear drum brakes give me confidence stopping on short notice if needed. This added control provides peace of mind navigating the unpredictable traffic conditions I frequently encounter. The Light also feels sure-footed at top speed thanks to its low center of gravity and sturdy build quality.

While buying refurbished can be risky, the 3 month warranty from ScootUp reassuringly covers repairs or issues. Thankfully my Light has performed reliably without any problems or loss of battery range since purchasing it. Considering the exorbitant cost of buying new in Dubai, I am extremely satisfied with my decision to go factory restored. Charging the battery takes about 5 hours - not the fastest, but also not inconveniently slow. The IPX4 water resistance rating allows me to ride in light rain. Though I still avoid going out during the sporadic severe downpours we get.

Overall, the Light checks all the boxes I need for commuting around a large, congested city. As a scooter enthusiast living abroad, having my trusty Inokim Light has made getting around Dubai much simpler. The high-performance specs like speed, acceleration and range give me the quick, efficient urban transportation I'm accustomed to. And finding a factory restored option saved me substantial cost while still getting that like-new quality and warranty. Whether commuting to the office or meeting friends, my Light helps me zip around this sprawling city on my own schedule. I would enthusiastically recommend this scooter to any expat living here.
