You know, as someone who lives and works right here in Dubai, getting around can be kind of a nightmare sometimes. Traffic's always madness, parking is sparse, and don't even get me started on the crazy cab fares. That's why I recently decided to try out the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Lite as an alternative way to ride around town.

At 1,700 AED, it's really not that pricey for an electric scooter. And let me tell you, this compact little thing definitely packs some punch for city cruising. It can hit speeds up to 25 km/h, which is more than enough for keeping up with the flow of traffic here without feeling like a tortoise on the roads.

Now, the range is about 20 km on a full charge. That may not seem like a huge number, but it's more than plenty for my daily commute to work, running errands around town, that kind of thing. I'm not trying to do any long road trips on this - it's really meant for that urban, short-distance travel.

One of the best things about the 4 Lite is just how light and portable it is. It only weighs about 15 kg and folds up nice and compact, so I can easily carry it with me wherever. No need to worry about tight parking spots or lugging it up stairs. Mobility is key living in a place like Dubai.

Safety-wise, it's got the basics covered with front electronic brakes and rear drum brakes to help you stop on a dime when needed. The pneumatic tires also do a decent job smoothing out bumps in the road. And thanks to its water/dust resistance, you don't have to be too precious about riding it around our sometimes sandy environment.

Battery life and charging is probably the only slight downside in my books. A full charge takes around 5 hours, which isn't lightning speed. But if I'm being honest, that just forces me to be a little more prepared and plan my power needs intelligently.

Overall, I've been really digging the Xiaomi 4 Lite as an easy, breezy way to cruise around Dubai without dealing with crazy traffic or insane transport costs. Is it the most powerful or long-range scooter out there? Nah, probably not. But for just zipping from Point A to B within the city's limits, it's a compact, zippy, and well-priced little ride that definitely gets the job done for a young working professional.
