Ducati Pro III, A Review
The Ducati Pro III is an exciting new electric scooter from the iconic Italian motorcycle brand. With its sporty styling and impressive performance, this e-scooter is aimed at urban commuters who want an environmentally friendly ride with premium style. I recently tested out the Pro III for a few weeks and came away very impressed.
At the core of the Pro III is a smooth and responsive 350W electric motor. This provides enough power to propel the scooter to a top speed of 25km/h. For city riding and short urban commutes, this level of performance is more than adequate. The motor is mated to a 48V, 13Ah lithium-ion battery pack that offers a maximum range of up to 50km on a single charge. During my testing, I was able to easily achieve a range of 35-40km in normal ride mode. This covers most urban commuting needs.
The Pro III has a high-quality magnesium alloy frame that keeps the overall weight down to just 17.5kg. At this weight, the Pro III feels nimble and easy to maneuver. The frame also allows you to conveniently carry the scooter when needed, especially useful when taking it on public transport.
Adding to the comfort are the 10” tubeless tires front and rear. These provide good absorption over cracked and uneven city roads. For stopping power, the Pro III is equipped with 220mm hydraulic disc brakes on both wheels. The brakes deliver strong and consistent performance even in wet conditions.
The Pro III uses a bright 3.2” LCD display mounted on the handlebar. This displays key metrics like speed, battery level, and current power mode. There is also a USB port to conveniently charge your phone while riding. For night riding, a built-in LED headlight and taillight keep you visible.
In terms of ride modes, the Pro III offers 4 power modes (L1 to L4) to suit your needs. L1 limits the speed to 6km/h and is best for walking with the scooter. L2 takes you to 15km/h for leisurely riding in pedestrian areas. L3 hits 20km/h for full city riding, while L4 unleashes the full 25km/h top speed. Being able to adjust the speed and power output is really useful.
The Pro III is priced at AED 3,499 in the UAE market. At this price point, it compares very favorably to other premium electric scooters. The Ducati brand prestige certainly commands a slight premium, but the performance, range, and features justify the pricing. Overall, the Ducati Pro III is an exceptional electric scooter for urban commuting. It delivers an excellent balance of power, comfort, features, and premium style. For environmentally conscious riders looking for a fast and fun electric scooter, the Pro III is easy to highly recommend.
